Life Insurance As A Gift
Does Life Insurance Make A Good Gift?

Would Life Insurance Make A Perfect Gift?
While we are enjoying the holiday season, our thoughts turn towards gifts. You may want to give some worthy people, or a worthy cause, a gift that can benefit them years – or decades – in the future. I am writing about the gift of life insurance.
Instead of spending your money on more video games or gadgets, you could help somebody financially in a very practical way.
There are two ways to give life insurance as a gift.
- You may choose to purchase a policy on your own life, and then leave the proceeds, or some portion, behind as a gift.
- You may choose to purchase a life insurance policy for somebody else. In this case, you will not be giving them the death benefit, but the other benefits of having life insurance.
Give The Life Insurance Proceeds As A Gift
You may have a favorite charity, or a collection of children or grandchildren. If you would like to leave them a nice sum of money, but do not have that money, a life policy can be affordable way to reach your goals. This is a common way to transfer more money to the next generation or endow a charity.
Give A Life Insurance Policy As A Gift
Who usually buys a policy for somebody as as a present? Well, it is actually more common than you think.
Buying Life Insurance For Kids
You could purchase a life policy for children or grandchildren. You may choose to purchase life insurance for grandchildren. You can pay affordable rates, because kids are usually cheap to cover, and they will get to have a policy they can eventually own when they are adults. They may get the benefits of lower rates, a possible cash value, and the future ability to add more coverage without having to go through health underwriting.
Life Insurance For Parents
You may even purchase a policy for a parent! I know that this sounds sort of grim, but a lot of grown kids purchase policies for older family members who cannot really afford the premiums. For example, a cheap burial insurance policy may relieve a lot of tension about who is going to pay for a funeral.
Life Insurance Fits Everybody!
Now these policies are not one-size-fits all, but you can probably find a good use for coverage, and so can people and organizations that you care about.
