Advantages of HSAs and High Deductible Major Medical
What is an H.S.A. health insurance plan?
The acronym, H.S.A., stands for Health Savings Account, and that particular type of savings account is a key part of the plan. There will be two key parts to this type of health plan. One is a higher deductible major medical insurance policy. The other one is the actual savings account. In theory, the medical plan will pay for large medical expenses that are covered. The account will provide funds to pay for many health expenses that are not covered or for covered expenses if the insured person has not yet reached the insurance policy deductible.
How To Compare Medicare Supplements
Are All Medicare Supplement Health Plans The Same?
Actually, there are standardized levels of Medicare supplements (medsups), which have some simple, but unhelpful names, like Plan A – L. The diffferent plans have different levels of coverage and benefits, but a Plan F is a Plan F no matter which private insurer you purchase it from. What may change, between different insurance company, is the premium.
Let me also include a note. Medsups are intended to cover the gaps in the original Mediare health insurance. They work with your benefits to help cover deductibles and copays. They are different than Medicare Advantage plans. There is a good article on the differences here: Medicare Supplements versus Medicare Advantage.
Maternity Health Insurance

If a pregnant woman, or spouse, is covered by group benefits you probably do not have that much to worry about. But millions of people in the US lack medical insurance, and so the cost of good pre-natal care and delivery are big concerns.
